Wild Lilac’s preschool classroom is a place where children can engage in exploration of art, science, music, language and literacy as a coactive group while being honored for their individual interests and passions. Wild Lilac’s preschool teachers help the children maintain an environment of mutual respect and appreciation as the children’s relationships continue to grow and deepen.
The curriculum celebrates the children’s questions about the broadening world around them by embracing imagination, creativity and play! Projects are process-oriented, open-ended and inspired by the children’s interests, questions, and passions. The children explore our neighborhood through field trips by walking, buggy and bus. With the help of parent volunteers, we picnic in neighborhood parks, see puppet shows and age appropriate children’s theatre, harvest food in our garden, and reap the benefits of living in the wild and wonderful Northwest. Wild Lilac provides scratch-made, healthy and delicious breakfast, snacks, and lunch each day.
The children in preschool classroom are between 3-6 years old, with 3 teachers whose overlapping schedules support a 1:10 ratio.
